Steve's first true love was Lynn.  For months, he agonized over asking this pale woman to the Senior Prom.  He worked up the courage, asked her, she accepted, he rented a classy white tux, and the rest was history.

Apparently, the date didn't work out so well.  After the prom, they parted ways, and Steve didn't pursue any women whatsoever for many years.

"As it turns out, she wasn't very colorful," Steve said in a 1976 interview, "I'd rather drink."

Can you blame him?
